Positano on the Amalfi coast

Lovely Positano, the romantic Italian coastline south of Napoli

Positano is on the Amalfi coastline south of Napoli. It is a string of pearls when it comes to small, cozy, sometimes cheap sometimes luxurious beach hugging villages and resorts. Positano is one of the absolutely most charming of all.

When to visit Positano?

Without a doubt according to the locals,  the best time of the year to see the Amalfi Coast is from April to June, when the spring flowers are in bloom, the weather is just warm enough, and the temperature of the Mediterranean allows for the first dip in the Mediterranean of the season.
By choosing late spring or early summer, you can also avoid the tourist crush of July and August and the rather hot temperatures later in the year.

July and August in Positano, when the party is on

If you love local festivals and nightlife, then remember that most events take place on the coast during the months of July and August.
The calendar of concerts and festivals is particularly full during these two months, which is also when most of the international jet-set anchor their yachts off the Amalfi Coast and can be seen in the most glamorous restaurants and clubs onshore, including “Music On the Rocks” in Positano and “Africana” in Praiano.

Even during these crowded months, you can enjoy the coast in peace and solitude by hiring a private boat to explore the hidden coves and beaches along the Amalfi Coast or by hiking the trails along the mountain slopes above the coast, far from the tourist crush.

The month of September is also an excellent time to visit the Amalfi Coast, while the temperatures are still mild and the lion’s share of tourists have left.

Casa Angelina-Praiano, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Sitting on the high cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, Casa Angelina offers a sublime slice of modern minimalism on the Mediterranean, with an emphasis on elegant simplicity and first-rate food. It is indeed the luxury boutique-style hotel, you would hope for on a beautiful Italian coastline.
An airy refuge, the boutique 42-room hotel is a place where guests can rediscover the forgotten rhythms of long, drawn-out days and easy, lingering evenings.

Casa Angelina serves as a sanctuary, bearing a fresh, pared-back aesthetic and a white-on-white palette that accentuates both the sea and sky blues outside and the contemporary artworks on display inside.

Understated chic is our design ethos and subtle details are our raison d’être: we like to make sure everything is immaculate, from the pillowy and pristine white Etro cotton sheets dressing your bed right down to the carefully placed garnish of garden-grown herbs on your plate.
